MURAL PROJECT: a new public art project for Au Sable Forks
The Ausable Theater in partnership with Essex County Land Bank and the NRDC will collaborate on the creation of a major mural on the Southside of our building in downtown Ausable Forks! This mural will be part of the 2026 ARTSCAPES: Walls Between Waters mural festival.
We believe public art transforms spaces: it tells our stories, honors our history, and sparks creativity. By bringing murals, sculptures, and other art installations to our towns, we are creating welcoming spaces that celebrate community pride and encourage people to gather, explore, and invest in our community.
But we can’t do this without you!
Community Meeting: January 15 at 7pm
Jay Community Center, 11 School Lane, Au Sable Forks
With input from the community the goal of the mural will be to enhance our local identity, foster civic engagement, and promote the beauty of our area. This project is funded and administered by the Essex County Land Bank in conjunction with state funding agencies and partners.
Join us for this important community meeting where we will engage in conversations about this exciting public project in addition to organizing a apprenticeship program.
